Treatment of periodontitis
Steady teeth for a strong bite

The prevention and treatment of gum and periodontal disease is extremely important. More than 80 percent of the population suffers from periodontitis – sometimes also called periodontosis colloquially. Especially above the age of 40, more teeth are lost due to periodontal disease than to tooth decay.

Bacterial coverings on the teeth (plaque) lead to unpleasant bad breath, irritate the gums and often trigger an inflammation (gingivitis). This can lead to the development of periodontal disease (periodontitis), which in turn can lead to the destruction of important supporting structures for the teeth such as the tissue which supports the teeth, the periodontal membrane or the jaw bone.

The modern treatment of periodontitis at our practice heals the disease which causes inflammation and enables lost bone tissue to be recovered or lost bone material to be replaced using a transplant or bone replacement material, in order to make your teeth stable again.
